Part 4 Gratton's Blessing

On Sunday June 5 we were able to witness the blessing of Gratton Robert Mayfield. He is now officially on the records of the church. It is a wonderful experience to see your son magnify his priesthood and use it to bless others. Gratton did not like the blessing one bit. After he was given his name and David started blessing him he started crying at the top of his lungs into the microphone! lol Bob (who got to stand in the circle with David, Kyle, Bill, his bishop and Sonja's former bishop) said David had one of his hands over Grat's mouth while he tried to finish!
The one part of the blessing I remember is that Gratton's life is going to be unique. We didn't get any pictures at the church but I did get a couple before Grat destroyed his blessing outfit that Sonja made.

It was so wonderful seeing all of our children and to be part of some of the great milestones in their lives. Being a mother and a grandmother are the best two jobs in life. 

Part 3 Bear World

After Jared's baptism we decided to spend the afternoon at Bear World. I know it sounds hokey but we have so much fun there.

 It's just a nice way to spend an afternoon. The weather was wonderful.

Part 2 Jared's Baptism

The next morning we got up to go to Jared's baptism. As it was a Stake baptism it was quite large but they had it very well organized. We met in the Chapel for talks on baptism and the gift of the Holy Ghost and a beautiful musical number, then we went to the room where the baptismal font was and were able to witness Jared be baptized by his father. It was pretty wonderful.

Next we went to another room where Jared was confirmed a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and received The Holy Ghost and was given a blessing from his father. His bishop, Bob, David and Kyle were all able to stand in the circle with Bill. It is always wonderful when the power of the priesthood is in action.

Wonderful Weekend in Idaho Part 1

On June 2nd we headed to Idaho for the weekend we have been looking forward to for MONTHS! Jared's baptism was of course planned months ago and then Gratton's blessing was scheduled so that we could make one trip and then we got the additional treat of watching Rachel's ballet performance. It would make one long blog so I've decided to break it into 3 or 4. 
Saturday night we got there just in time to see Rachel's ballet performance. It was quite beautiful and Rachel's was last and the best of course!  Here are a couple of pictures.

It was really a wonderful experience. I've never actually been to a ballet before. It was quite beautiful and so is my beautiful Rachel!
