I can't believe it has been 30 years! (just a little slow to blog about it)

So January 1st Bob and I celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary. Kirstie got her best friend Jennifer Miller to make us an amazing cake as a surprise. We hadn't really planned on celebrating much. We were just happy Kirstie and family could stay and celebrate it with us. Nothing better than grand kids to put a smile on your face any day of the week.

I always laugh on our anniversary because 99% of the people we knew said it wouldn't last a year let alone...gasp 30! Shall I tell you the story of our courtship and elopement? If I get more than two of you to read this and ask I will.
For now I will say that we got married in a blizzard at Stateline, Nevada. Here is what we looked like then.

Beach Trip!

One of the last things we did before everyone started home was go to the beach and have a bonfire and roast hot dogs and have s'mores. We had a great time. It was Gratton's first time going to the beach and he wasn't sure about the water at first but really loved it...he didn't like the cold sand on his feet though!

Of course I am surrounded by my wonderful family. I am blessed.

Gratton was learning to walk when he came to Grandma's house. The first day or two it was a few steps but by the time he left he was really going!

One of the first things I did for him was get out some plastic bowls and wooden spoons to play with. He decided that wooden spoons were really cool and carried them with him everywhere. They even went to Disneyland and he wouldn't let go!

Getting back on track!

So to catch up on the last 4 months....Sept/October I went to Idaho to help Kyle and Alysa move. It didn't turn out the way we wanted but I did get to visit my kids and grand kids. We picked apples, went through a straw maze and ate at Big Judd's to name a few things. FUN STUFF! Of course I can't find the pictures....If I do I'll post them.

Thanksgiving was quiet with only Colin home but we had great food anyway. Colin smoked a turkey which turned out amazingly delicious.

Christmas we got VISITORS! First Kirstie, Bill, Rachel, Jared and Ellie came to visit. Because they were heading to their OTHER grandparents for Christmas. We opened Christmas presents after we got home from the temple Thurs Night.

Then David, Sonja, Gratton, Bryce and Jonny came to visit (Sonja's brother's) came. Christmas Eve Sonja's mom and other brother Bubba came and shared our traditional Chinese Christmas Eve dinner and stayed for Christmas too.

Everyone seems to like the eggnog! :D
